The GCOS orchestra comprises advanced and experienced players who meet for about 6 rehearsals just prior to the Society concerts. The orchestra accompanies the choir in large choral works and also plays a variety of orchestral music at the concerts.

The orchestral trainer for the Christmas Concerts 2011 is Michael Sullivan.
