Our Accompanist: Bridget McRae

Bridget, who was born and brought up in Guernsey, is a graduate of the Royal College of Music where she studied piano with Kendall Taylor, piano accompaniment with Millicent Silver and violin with Jack Steadman. She subsequently worked in London for 5 years and returned to Guernsey in 1984 to become the first Director of St James, a post she held until 1986 when she left to raise her family. She now teaches the piano and accompanies the Guernsey Choral Society for their weekly rehearsals and, for the past 10 years, the annual Choral Workshop. She has accompanied in local concerts over the years, plays for students for exams and the Eisteddfod, and is the pianist in "Triuna", a collaboration with Jill Stephenson (narrator) and Mary Cordall (cello) that puts together programmes of words and music. For relaxation Bridget much enjoys playing with "Amicus", a piano trio formed 15 years ago with Richard de la Rue (violin) and Mary Cordall (cello).
