VICE ADMIRAL IAN CORDER CB - LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR

Vice Admiral Sir Ian Corder joined the Royal Navy in 1978, completing a sponsored degree in Pure Mathematics at Cambridge University. He commanded two submarines and one larger surface warship, and at various stages has been responsible for the delivery of the UK's Nuclear deterrent; the Royal Navy's Personnel and Human Resources policies and,from 2011-2013, the command of all Royal Navy operations worldwide. He has also been the Head of the Royal Navy’s Submarine Service. His final appointment was as the UK Military Representative to NATO and the European Union, before being installed as the Lieutenant-Governor of the Bailiwick of Guernsey in March 2016.
